18 and 19 year olds are needed for a paid research study

The Brain, Motivation and Personality Development (BrainMAPD) Project at the University of California in Los Angeles and Northwestern University in Chicago is investigating changes in the brain and emotional well-being from adolescence to adulthood.

This website provides information about the project and access to a screening survey that will take about 2-5 minutes to complete.

If you complete the survey, you will be entered into a $50 lottery that you will have a one in fifty chance of winning. If you are selected to participate in the BrainMAPD project, you will be compensated up to $1000 over a three-year period.

You are eligible to participate if you are:

  • 18-19 years old
  • right-handed
  • fluent in English
  • residing in Los Angeles or Chicago for the next three years
  • not a high school student (If you are graduating and staying in Los Angeles
    or Chicago, you may still be eligible, please contact us)
